ALOHA MAI KAKOU. 'O ALETA KO'U INOA.

Aloha Kakou!  Welcome to my first personal webpage!  My name is Aleta and I'm from the island of Oahu, Hawaii.  This page was made for my 2014 Summer Abroad assignment.  After it was over I decided to continue updating the page with adventures I've had both near and far to home.

Just a little about me; I attended the University of Hawai'i at Manoa.  I graduated from the College Tropical Agriculture & Human Resources School Spring 2015.  My focus was Tropical Plant & Soil Sciences (TPSS) majoring in Plant Production & Management AKA Horticulture.  I was a member of the Horticulture Society for the past three years.  I was also honored with recieving scholarships and mentoring through organizations such as the Native Hawaiian Science and Engineering Mentorship Program, Liko A'e and the TPSS department.  I spent time volunteering and researching at Lyon Arboretum's Micropropagation Lab where they work diligently to protect & ensure survival of endemic & non-endemic Native Hawaiian plant species.  I enjoy the outdoors especially the beach, fishing, gardening, insect collecting, atv riding and spending time with friends and family.

I am currently living on the East Coast for the Summer interning at Longwood Gardens in greenhouse production.  This is my first time living away from home.  It's been an exciting time so far!  Feel free to check out the many experiences I've had over the years and Mahalo Nui for visiting my page.
